Designing With Web - Part 3: week 1

Promote action against climate change.

Group 104

Project 2: Record your carbon footprint

Context

when? where? who? why?

Nowadays, people join in the tendency of recording their daily walking steps or distance through their mobile phones. Actually, it is not only good for their physical health, but also for environment. Those who walk or take public transport to work or to school, tend to have less negative impact. So, what we plan to do is to encourage daily simple actions which are friendly to the environment.

Target

for whom?

Our target group is people who are willing to travel green in their daily lives. Our goal is to hope that more and more people can choose green travel in their usual travel choices, for example, walking or cycling. And then, the public can upload their green travel records to redeem points. When the points accumulate to a certain level, they can redeem for charity activities on our website, and then the staff of our website will take actual actions based on the charity activities that people redeem , such as planting a tree in a poor environment.

Therefore, in this way, we can encourage more people to use green travel to improve climate change.

Service offered

Making technology an ally in the fight against climate change, this is the ambitious idea we aspire to through the implementation of our step recording application. When we walk we do not have the capacity to count the number of steps we take over a long distance. With a mobile phone, everything becomes easier. By using our app, people are given credits based on the number of steps they have taken. These credits can be converted into concrete actions to fight climate change such as planting trees, collecting and sorting garbage.
